The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 70% by 2025 from a base year 2015, which translates into the estimated reduction of -31 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2025. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
Also, the company commits to achieving net zero for all Scopes by 2039, which translates into the estimated reduction of -3,429 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2039. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
Unilever also has a science-based goal that, however, does not appear to explicitly target a company-wide reduction in emissions in absolute terms. Dutch-British transnational consumer goods company, Unilever commits to reduce scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 100% by 2030 from a 2015 base year. The company also commits to reduce GHG emissions from the life-cycle of their products 50% per consumer use by 2030 from a 2010 base-year.
