Enbridge's carbon footprint

Enbridge reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2021 at 13,428 Kt (+748/+5.9% y-o-y). At the sime time, carbon intensity fell to 359 t (-71 /-16.5% y-o-y).

Enbridge's Scope 3 emissions grew to 48,512 Kt (+1,212/+2.6% y-o-y). The growth accelerated relative to the long-term trend (+0.7% CAGR) observed since 4Q'17.

The company is committed to achieving net zero for Scope 1 + 2 by 2050, which translates into the estimated reduction of -463 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2050. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
