E.ON's carbon footprint

E.ON reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2021 at 7,610 Kt (-800 /-9.5% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity declined to 83 t (-35 /-29.6% y-o-y).

E.ON's Scope 3 emissions was down at 100,380 Kt (-7,580 /-7% y-o-y). The decline accelerated compared to the CAGR of -5.8% since 4Q'19.

The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 75% by 2030 from a base year 2019, which translates into the estimated reduction of -601 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2030. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
