Charter Communications's carbon footprint

Charter Communications reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2021 at 1,434 Kt (-41 /-2.8% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity decreased sharply to 28 t (-3 /-9.8% y-o-y).

Charter Communications's Scope 3 emissions declined marginally to 1,008 Kt (-6.9 /-0.7% y-o-y). There has been no clear trend lately.

The company is committed to achieving net zero for Scope 1 + 2 by 2035, which translates into the estimated reduction of -102 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2035. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
