GHG emissions and Carbon intensity
Analog Devices reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2020 at 159 Kt (-1.9 /-1.2% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity was down at 27 t (-0.8 /-2.9% y-o-y).
Analog Devices's Scope 3 emissions surged to 35,329 Kt (
The company is committed to achieving net zero for Scope 1 + 2 by 2050, which translates into the estimated reduction of -5.3 Kt per annum over the period of FY2021 - FY2050. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
Also, the company commits to achieving net zero for all Scopes by 2050, which translates into the estimated reduction of -1,183 Kt per annum over the period of FY2021 - FY2050. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
Analog Devices aims to achive carbon neutrality across its operations (Scope 1 + 2) in 2030. Companies normally become carbon neutral with the help of the acquisition of carbon offsets rather than absolute reductions in their own greenhouse emissions. Also, carbon neutrality does not include non-CO2 GHG emissions.
Analog Devices also has a science-based goal that, however, does not appear to explicitly target a company-wide reduction in emissions in absolute terms. Analog Devices Inc. commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 50% by 2030 from a 2019 base year.Analog Devices Inc. also commits that 66.7% of its suppliers by spend covering purchased goods and services, will have science-based targets by 2025.
